Otside-In School Reform

Well, I guess when you run out of money and the will to produce an education system that works we can start pointing fingers.  This article again tells that story that we have been digesting for many years of the social problems facing the t youth in our education programs throughout the nation.  Why are we talking about this again instead of focusing on our students?  Because those students who are economically and socially challenged are bring down the testing scores?  I thin k this is what we are really looking at here.  When our society decides to value our neighbor we might be able to start to ask these questions in a way that will begin to shape the student outcomes in school.  Until then, I suggest that educators work to educate in the best possible way with the tools at hand.  We have the tools and the strategies to educate our children now.  We can work with what we have.  Lets not get distracted by what might be coming down the tech turnpike.......or not.
